How does Palomar pulsed light work?

Palomar Systems uses specialized handpieces that filter light from different spectrum parts; each spectrum band has a wavelength that is ideal for different treatments, such as sunspot removal and vessel clearance. The Palomar RejuveLux handpieces emit pulses of light into the skin. The sunspot pigment absorbs the light and blood in visible vessels and is converted to heat. The heat dissolves the cells that create the pigment and shrinks the vessels.

How is Palomar Pulsed light different from the laser?

Pulsed light systems and lasers are similar, but Palomar Pulsed Light systems use a much larger treatment window than most. This spreads light over a wider area of the skin, allowing faster coverage and quicker treatments.

What should I expect after treatment?

Immediately after treatment, you can expect a mild sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some mild swelling. This usually lasts 2-24 hours and can be soothed with cold gel or ice packs.

Sunspots/Sun damage: The sunspots will darken after treatment and be naturally shed from the skin within 1-2 weeks.

What is Botox®?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that blocks nerve impulses and temporarily relaxes muscles that cause wrinkles. It prevents the facial muscles from contracting, allowing them to relax and leaving the skin smoother and unwrinkled. BOTOX® Cosmetic can offer extended relief over the course of long-term treatment to correct the visible signs of stress and aging. The initial effects are visible within 3-5 days, and results usually last 3 to 5 months. The length of the results varies with each individual. How is the procedure administered?

Using an ultra-fine needle, BOTOX® is injected into the specific muscles causing the lines and wrinkles. The treatment is minimally uncomfortable, and no anesthetic is necessary. Most patients compare this discomfort to a bug bite. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes.

What is the downtime after the BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

What are Restylane® and Juvéderm™ made of?

Restylane® and Juvéderm™ and  are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in the human body. It is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

How are dermal fillers administered?

Using an ultrafine needle, the dermal fillers are administered through a series of injections directly into the skin. There is minimal discomfort associated with the treatment; however, local anesthetics may be provided if necessary.
